We used three native bamboo species: golden bamboo, giant green bamboo, and a smaller regional variety. Each species was chosen for strength, sustainability, and compatibility with the local environment.

After harvesting, the bamboo was cured naturally to prevent rot and increase durability without chemicals. Our team carefully prepared the site, reinforced the structure with traditional techniques, and added shading to protect turtle nests from extreme temperatures. Every step was guided by our mission to conserve sea turtles in Costa Rica with minimal impact on the environment.
